Dr. Kierra McShine-Gregory

Kierra believes that Counseling can help to identify strengths and personal successes, as well as helping us to explore areas of growth through self-discovery. A native of Virginia, Kierra graduated with a Bachelor’s in Developmental Psychology, and holds a master’s degree in Counseling and Education, and since 2009 she has been active in the field of education with a foundational framework as a mental health professional.

The foundation to Kierra’s counseling relationships starts with creating a warm, open, and supportive environment that will foster trust and reflection as you tackle the road ahead together. She believes that deep reflection, guided by therapeutic strategies will allow her clients to create a cognitive visual which will support the practical methods that she employs in their counseling sessions.

Understanding one’s past and current life patterns will help to foster internal growth, leading to deeper awareness and emotional well-being that will cultivate a healthy mental trajectory. Kierra’s primary method of counseling includes meditation, mindfulness, and a person-centered approach.  Kierra’s approach has helped clients: find success in their relationship with self and others coping with challenges of daily living (stress, trauma, relationships etc.), develop healthy coping skills, enhance fulfilling in overall well-being related to depression, anxiety, academic difficulties, family conflicts, and life goals (purpose, career satisfaction etc.)

Kierra has continued to bridge her counseling framework with her educational experience to serve her community. Kierra is a mindful and restorative practitioner, and has completed her Doctoral Degree in Social Services, focusing on the considerations of Mindfulness and Restorative practices for minority youth.
